300 THB tourism fee is applied for foreigners visiting Thailand – Luke Bui

Thailand has started to apply a tourism fee of 300 THB (~10 USD) for foreigners visiting Thailand individually or in a group.

The authority said that this fee is for the management of tourist destinations and insurance benefits. This means that sick or injured foreigners will receive medical care in Thailand. Tourism and Sports Minister – Mr.Phiphat informed that 34 of 300 THB tourism fee is expected to be used for this purpose.

Even though it was said that the fee is for insurance benefits, it is not considered travel insurance.
