Transportation for the Bangkok Escape Day Trip

As the itinerary will cover many small trips, it would be best if you travel by your own car or motorbike.

For mine, I rent a motorbike for 300 THB per day at Patoy Motorbike Rental at 77, 9 Sukhumvit 4 Alley, Khlong Toei, Bangkok (See map). You can contact the shop at +66994478489. The owner speaks very good English.

Another shop for motorbike renting is BSR Bike Shop at 79/37 Soi Phumichit, Rama 4, Phra Khanong, Klong Toei, Bangkok (See map). English speaking is available at +66850550247.

Itinerary for the Bangkok Escape Day Trip

The itinerary will cover some spots within 60 kilometers from Bangkok. It starts at Wat Asokaram and ends at Bang Pu Recreation.

The first stop is Wat Asokaram

Phra Thutangkha Chedi – the highlight of Wat Asokaram

About one hour’s driving from Bangkok, we reach Wat Asokaram – a well-known place for meditation and chanting. Coming to this place, you have a chance to enjoy a peaceful space and Phra Thutangkha Chedi – a group of 13 stupas (chedis) that represent the 13 duties of a monk during any religious trip.
We spend around one hour here walking around and seeing the temple’s architecture before we move to the next stop. You can enter the place for free.

The second stop is Wat Hong Thong

Wat Hong Thong – a nice temple by the sea

Wat Hong Thong is the furthest place of the trip. It is 40 kilometers away from Wat Asokaram. This temple stands by the sea and it is well-known for its perfect location. It is considered the only seafront temple in Thailand. A tranquil moment, a nice view of the sea, and great temple architecture are what you can expect in this place.

It’s ideal to spend around one hour at the place. If you want to try your good luck, do not forget to buy a lottery ticket at the entrance when you leave. You can visit this place without paying anything.

The Third stop is Moken Seafood Restaurant

Moken Seafood – A must-see seafront restaurant

After we leave the temple, it is almost afternoon. Therefore, it is ideal to go to Moken Seafood Restaurant for lunch. This restaurant faces the Gulf of Thailand, which offers you a nice sea view, delicious food, free parking, and great customer service. The price for a meal starts from 250 THB.

Two to three hours is enough for this place to enjoy the sea breeze and tasty seafood.

The last stop is Bang Pu Recreation Center

An amazing scene in Bang Pu Recreation Center

After a wonderful lunch, Bang Pu Recreation Center will be a perfect place to enjoy the late afternoon. This spot is famous for birdwatching and relaxing. Many seagulls migrate to this place from November to April. As a result, the place is vibrant and wonderful.

You can stay here until 5-6 PM to enjoy the sunset, then drive back to Bangkok before it’s dark. Otherwise, you can enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant before coming back.

The trip is arranged as a round trip. You will go to the furthest spot from Bangkok. After that, you gradually move closer to Bangkok before it is dark. In this trip, Muang Boran (Ancient City) is skipped because it may take you a whole day in the place. If you want to visit this place, you should visit it on a separate day. Have a nice trip!
