  1. Prepare good health: When you travel alone, you will be the only one to take care of yourself. Make sure your body is strong enough to visit as many places as you can.
  2. Don’t bring valuable things: Sometime in your alone trip, you may need to stay in a shared hostel to save money, so don’t bring valuable things to avoid loss.
  3. Know your destination: Before you go, spend some time grabbing some information about your destination to prepare yourself before arrival. For example, which airport you will arrive at, which transportation you will take to get to your hotel, how the culture of your destination is like, etc.
  4. Prepare your own first aid kit and medicine: When you travel to a new country, you may not know where to buy a bandage when you get a small wound or where to buy the medicine for headache. Therefore, preparing your own first aid kit and medicine can help you a lot in urgent cases. Medicines recommended are the ones for flu, headache, and diarrhea. You can choose some others as your preferences.
  5. Only bring necessary things: If you don’t want to be tired of carrying too much luggage, list out your necessary things, and pack them in your backpack or suitcase.
  6. Choose the 24/7 accommodation: This is to make sure that you can check-in whenever you arrive.
  7. Check-in your accommodation carefully: Upon check-in, write down your name without your sex indication such as Ms, Mrs, or Mr, make sure the reception write down your room number instead of speak it out loud to avoid anyone in the area knowing how to find you later.

  9. Don’t be out too late and try to arrive at your destination in the day time: This tip is for safety reason.   11. Check the maps and use public transportation as much as possible because it helps you to save a lot of travel expenses.
  12. Leave the itinerary with your family or your friend to update your travel status and remember to keep in touch with them via phone or messages, etc.
  13. Dress modestly, especially when you are a solo female traveler to avoid unexpected attention and harassment.
  14. Bring your power bank: You may use your phone a lot for checking the map and taking photo during your travel, so bring your power bank to avoid low battery.
  15. Bring your tripod to support photo taking when no one is around to help you capture the  great trip memories.
  16. Bring some pocket books to read when you are hard to sit alone in a place without talking to someone.
